Coffee Chat #1

I’ve decided that I want to start incorporating “coffee chats” occasionally into my blog where I sit down and just update on mine and Ronan’s lives and maybe talk about some current events. So grab a cup of coffee and let’s get to chatting!

It took a long time for me to actually make the decision to start blogging. I knew that I wanted to use this space as an outlet but I also wanted to reach other moms, or people in general, who can relate to my lifestyle.

I wanted to become part of a community social media wise, and blog wise, that would help and support me through this motherhood journey, and so far that’s exactly what I’ve received. I don’t have many mom friends where I live as my town is so tiny and drama spreads fast, so social media has really been a blessing!

To kick off the month, I turned 25! It’s crazy how fast birthdays are starting to come and go, but I’m blessed to be on this earth another year.

We made a court appearance! Unfortunately our child support establishment got pushed back another 3 months thanks to the military member protection act, which really makes no sense considering Ronan’s dad is not deployed and is just hanging out in Cali for the time being. We’ve been going through this process since November so it’s getting a bit frustrating.

As far as I can tell, Ronan’s dad is only interested in paying the support while not having a personal relationship with him and that is fine with me. I know it will affect him later on and we will face that when the time comes but for now, he needs stability and wont get that from his dad.

We also dropped a daycare from our waiting lists this month and are hoping he will have a spot in our first choice soon! I never imagined it would take so long to get him in and if it weren’t for my GI Bill, I’m not sure how we would get by each month.

I am currently working weekends, going to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and staying home with Ronan Monday, Wednesday, and Friday which I love! I know it won’t be that way forever but I’m soaking in every second we get to spend together and it’s so fun watching him change and grow. We will talk more about that next week in his Five Month Update!

That pretty much covers everything going on with us. Now to the subject flooding the Internet right now..mass shooting and gun control.

I am not a fan of confrontation so I often keep topics that may start debates to myself as my opinion is not likely to change someone else’s. That being said, all I will say about the tragedy of the mass shooting in Florida is that I am praying for all the families of loved ones lost and for the soul evil enough to bring such pain upon a community.

I am not a fan of politics so I hope it doesn’t upset too many that I don’t often talk about it.

Next coffee chat will be a little more organized as I work out the kinks, but I hope you enjoy these!
